Two girls prancing through a meadow.

When my hometown friends come back together from university over the summer, we excitedly make a summer bucket list, and every time, a picnic and a photoshoot always makes the cut. This past year, those of us who could make it decided to combine the two with a home-cooked meal, vaguely coordinated outfits, and cameras we’ve only just begun to understand. We pranced in the grass,  feeling light and dreamy one moment and the next, tumbling to the ground and yelling incoherently. A day full of laughter and frolic is forever captured, and the tradition continues.

Michela Brittis-Tannenbaum (she/her) ‘25 is a senior majoring in Architecture and Environment, Sustainability, and Policy. She’s discovered a love for fashion, cooking and baking, and taking long walks, and can be found constantly listening to some sort of music or video. She’s always enjoyed creative ventures as an outlet and reprieve from everyday life, exploring different mediums over the years (although she’ll always come back to drawing and photography), and hopes it’ll follow her for years to come.
